CAC U.S. Army" First Edition. 8vo. 8-3/16" x 5-1/2" bound in blue cloth covered boards stamped in gold. 404 pp. including glossary and index. A little darkening of prelims with a touch of very very faint foxing around outer margin of pages. Overall very good plus condition. Item #993

Includes two folding supplements in back pocket. One is an 18" x 24" black and white Map of Military America Showing Disposition of Forces in all Branches of the Service. On the back are printed charts for Tentative Assignment for Organized Militia Units; Warship Tonnage of the Principal Naval Powers; Navy Pay Tables. This map is crisp and in very good shape but for a few small holes along one of the fold lines. The other is a chart measuring 29-3/4" x 14" titled "Approximate Strength of Regular Army Provided by National Defense Act of June 3, 1916, and Other Acts: Rank, Grade, Pay and Insignia of Commissioned Officers and Enlisted Personnel and Arms of Service. Also includes drawings of types of uniforms, badges for marksmanship, and rank insignia. This chart is in crisp, almost new condition except for an 1/8" tear along one fold line.
