Autobiography of the actor Francis Wilson (1854-1835) who began his career in minstrel shows and branched out to comic opera and other stage productions. He formed his own theater company in 1899. In later life, a resident of Clearwater Florida, he was instrumental in organizing a permanent home for the Clearwater Players, eventually named the Francis Wilson Playhouse which still boasts "Great Live Theater for 92 Seasons." This story of his life includes reminiscences of Edwin Booth, Eugene Field, Joseph Jefferson and Walt Whitman.
