Clavis Calendaria; or a Compendious Analysis of the Calendar: Illustrated with Ecclesiastical, Historical, and Classical Anecdotes

London: 1815. Stated Third Edition. 8vo. 9" x 5-3/4". Two volumes. 404 pp. and 406 pp. Second volume including index. Boards covered in brown cloth (or maybe paper textured to look like cloth). All hinges tender. Back endpapers of volume II are split, leaving the cover to pull away from the text block. Front hinge repaired on Vol. I. Previous owner's name and date of 1843 written in ink on free front endpaper. A few minor flaws here and there . . a small dampstain, a few folded corners. Both text blocks tight. Overall a clean, very nice copy printed on high rag content paper, suitable for many hours of desultory, pleasurable browsing. Item #785

It is fascinating how many events are lost in the past as we wander through the barrens of the 21st century . . . unless, we are lucky enough to be able to browse through these books packed with long forgotten Christian and Classical lore.
