This shot was featured on the cover of the Sept. 8, 1956 issue of TV Guide, promoting Elvis' legendary Sept. 9 appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. It was on this night that the King was born, with Elvis reaching an audience of millions as 82% of TV viewers tuned in. This appearance marked the public debut of the classic ballad 'Love Me Tender," which shot to #1 on the Billboard charts. This photo is presented in a 16 x 20" board mat with TV Guide Cover Portrait on the mount below the opening.
